Boys Varsity Swimming, Girls Varsity Swimming · Oceanside Swimming Women win PCA Invite; Men take 2nd!

The Oceanside Women continue their strong season as they won the PCA Invitational on Saturday in Mount Pleasant at their last regular season meet before state next weekend in Columbia. Oceanside was led by Senior Chrisman Rand who won the High Point Award for her two wins in the 50 Free and 100 Breast. Caroline Hill and Kendal Chunn both tied for High Point Runner Up and Sophia McCoy had a strong weekend finishing 3rd for total individual points.
The Oceanside Men had a strong team showing as they took 2nd at the PCA Invitation narrowly falling to SCISA power Porter Gaud but beating out 13 other teams. Senior Philip Klein finished in the Top Ten for individual points in the 14-team field.
While the swimmers certainly were the highlight, it was the Oceanside parents who were the big winners as they won the much heralded “parent relay”. Eight teams fielded a 200 Free parent relay with the brave group of Oceanside Mom’s pulling out the win. There were certainly no lack of competitive spirit and even more laughs. Congratulations, Ladies!
